Whether you’re a digital nomad looking for a place to stay for a few months or a remote worker wanting to escape the cold winters in the northern hemisphere, Puerto Escondido is the place to be!

A QUICK LOOK AT COWORKING IN PUERTO ESCONDIDO
WHAT IS THE BEST COWORKING SPACE IN PUERTO ESCONDIDO?
All things considered, Losodeli is the best Puerto Escondido coworking space.
They have fast and stable internet, you can work at a desk or around the pool, and you’ll meet like-minded people from all around the world.
IS THE WIFI GOOD IN PUERTO ESCONDIDO?
As a whole, no, the WiFi isn’t the best in Puerto Escondido, but the internet connection in the region is slowly improving with the introduction of fiber optic and Starlink.
For the most part, you’ll always be able to find good enough WiFi to get online, though it’s important to know that some hotels and coworking spaces offer better connectivity than others.
It also depends on your job and what you need to do. For instance, if you’re a blogger or a writer that uses WordPress, then the internet will be fast enough for you to publish posts, check emails, and do smaller tasks of the like.
However, if you’re an online coach that has several online meetings every week, the Wi-Fi in most places will likely not be good enough for you to stream video.
WHERE TO FIND THE BEST WIFI IN PUERTO ESCONDIDO?
The most reliable Wi-Fi connection in Puerto Escondido can be found in the three main coworking spaces in town – Casa Losodeli, Hostel Selina, and Utopia Digital Garden.
The remaining Puerto Escondido coworking places are cafes, but the Wi-Fi connection isn’t that reliable.
Most cafes are welcoming to nomads and don’t charge any coworking fees, however, it’s a courtesy to purchase something to eat and drink while you use their space.
IS PUERTO ESCONDIDO WORTH IT FOR REMOTE WORKERS?
While the internet speed isn’t the best you’ve seen, Puerto Escondido is heaven for remote workers and digital nomads.
The cost of living is reasonable, you have tons of restaurant options from cheap street food to fine dining, the beaches are stunning, it’s easy to get around, and the locals are super friendly.

El Petit Cafe is not an official coworking space in Puerto Escondido but it does have a few tables with plug-ins to work at for a while and get things done.
It’s a French bakery that welcomes digital nomads and you can get fantastic croissants, cakes, sandwiches, macarons, fresh fruit juices, and coffee.
The internet connection is reliable and you’ll be able to stay for a couple of hours without issues. That said, the chairs aren’t the most comfortable so I wouldn’t recommend working here for the whole day.
- The internet connection at El Petit Cafe is pretty fast with an average speed of 85 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload which is more than enough for most tasks.
- There is no fee for coworkers, however, you will have to make a purchase from the cafe. You’ll find cakes for as cheap as MXN 30 (USD $1.5), beer is cheap, and they also have vegan and vegetarian sandwiches. All in all, it’s a delicious and low-cost cafe to work at.

However, before you pack your bags and head off to Mexico, take some time to consider all of the pros and cons of coworking in Puerto Escondido.
PUERTO ESCONDIDO COWORKING – THE PROS
Want to take your coworking experience to the next level? Then Puerto Escondido is the place for you!
Known as one of Mexico’s most beautiful and laid-back destinations, PE offers an unmatched coworking experience. Here are the pros of living and coworking in Puerto Escondido.
HIGH QUALITY OF LIFE
If you’re looking for an incredible place to work and live, look no further than Puerto Escondido.
This coastal town is known for its high quality of life and relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of big cities.
In addition to its natural beauty, Puerto Escondido is home to great coworking spaces, providing digital nomads and remote workers with everything they need to be productive while enjoying life.
THERE IS FOOD FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD
Finding good eats in Mexico, in general, is relatively easy with lots of seafood, vegan, vegetarian, and healthy dishes available, and Puerto Escondido takes everything to the next level.
You’ll find international restaurants if you crave American, European, and even middle-eastern delicacies. And you also have excellent cafes serving power bowls, fresh fruit juices, and more.
Of course, Mexican food is fantastic and I could eat it every day, but being able to find pasta, pizza, falafel, sushi, and many more dishes makes life even better during your stay!
YOU CAN MAKE FRIENDS EASILY
The coworking spaces in Puerto Escondido provide an opportunity to meet like-minded, talented individuals who share your passion for the digital nomadic lifestyle.
In addition to coworking, there are plenty of other ways to get involved in the community and meet new friends such as heading out to the bars at night, sampling street food with other ex-pats, and yoga and meditation classes around the town to connect on a deeper level.

You can walk pretty much everywhere around town and the beaches which will save you tons of cash in transportation.
In comparison with other places like Sayulita or Tulum, Puerto Escondido is still cheap and that’s why it’s the perfect place for digital nomads.
PUERTO ESCONDIDO COWORKING – THE CONS
Living in Puerto Escondido has many pros, but there are also a couple of cons to consider which I have listed below.
INTERNET IS NOT ALWAYS RELIABLE
Unfortunately, this is a pretty big one for digital nomads and remote workers.
As a general rule of thumb, the internet connection isn’t that reliable here and there are often power outages, especially in the wet season.
Sure, you can still work at one of the high-speed internet coworking spaces in Puerto Escondido, but you probably don’t want to go to the same place every day, let alone the costs incurred.
Also, if you’re the type of person that works better from home than in a coworking environment, it could be a deal-breaker as Wi-Fi isn’t always great at some accommodations to jump on a Zoom call or even download big files.
PUERTO ESCONDIDO IS A LAID-BACK CITY
I list this point as a con because it could be an inconvenience for some people.
Puerto Escondido is an incredible place to live, however, you’ll have to forget about the big shopping malls, tech shops, and most services you have in bigger cities like Cancun or Mexico City, and things are a little slower here.
That being said, I spend about 2 months per year here and I never get bored!
