I’m going to be focussing primarily on how to get to Coron from El Nido by ferry, how to get from Puerto Princesa to Coron, and my favorite pick of them all, a multi-day island-hopping expedition to Coron from El Nido!

EL NIDO TO CORON – BY FERRY
The main mode of transport is the El Nido to Coron ferry… So let’s get started.
There are 2 daily ferries leaving to Coron from El Nido. One ferry takes 6 hours and the El Nido to Coron fast ferry takes 3 to 4 hours. The slow ferry costs around 1300 pesos per person whilst the fast ferry costs around 1700 pesos per person.
It’s best to book your ticket online in advance for the ferry to secure your ticket as seats are limited.
The El Nido to Coron ferry route passes a few well-known islands such as Linapacan and San Miguel which are home to beautiful beaches and landscapes. Some companies offer tour packages of the three islands.
Along with the slow and fast ferries, you also have the option to take a cargo ferry to Coron. This takes around 8 hours with the budget ticket costing 1500 pesos.
The El Nido ferry terminal is at the west point of the main beach (Google maps location). All boats, cargo ships, and ferries leave from the El Nido Ferry Terminal. You also have the option to take a private boat from El Nido To Coron.
As you can see, the ferry journey to Coron is very straightforward. The return journey from Coron To El Nido is just as easy.

El Nido Island Hopping
CORON TO EL NIDO
To get from Coron to El Nido, you can take the Montenegro Fast Ferry from the Coron Port back to El Nido Ferry Terminal.
The Coron to El Nido Fast ferry departs at 12:00 pm and get’s back to El Nido Ferry Terminal at 3:30 pm. The fast ferry costs 1850 pesos per person.

Coron Island Hopping
EL NIDO TO CORON – BY PLANE
If you’re really not feeling that boating life then you can actually fly to Coron from El Nido. Ayala Group operates one flight on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Their schedules change so it’s best to check their website.
You’ll pay around 2600 pesos for a one-way ticket. The plane will depart El Nido Airport and land at the Francisco B. Reyes Airport in Coron. The flight time is around 40 minutes.

EL NIDO TO CORON – 3D & 2N EXPEDITION
Are you looking for the ultimate adventure in Palawan?! Well, I can tell you now, Island Hopping to Coron is the definition of ultimate adventure!
The El Nido to Coron tour with Buhay Isla is a 3 Day and 2 Night expedition on a traditional ‘bangka’ boat stopping at a number of remote islands to explore deserted beaches, snorkel the colorful coral reefs, soak up the sun on the deck, and camp out in beachside bungalows under the stars.

PUERTO PRINCESA TO CORON
Being located on two different islands, travel from Puerto Princesa to Coron is never going to be the most straightforward unless you choose to fly.
However, in this guide, I aim to give you all the information you need to make your travel between the two islands as simple as possible.
To break it down there are 3 different ways to get to Coron from Puerto Princesa and they are Ferry, Bus and Ferry, or by Plane.
Let’s go into more detail below…
PUERTO PRINCESA TO CORON – BY PLANE
This by far is the fastest and most convenient way of traveling to Coron from Puerto Princesa.
You can get a direct flight from Puerto Princesa to Coron so if you’re looking to save time, then this is the option for you. The international airport in Puerto Princesa is just a short distance from the city.
The flight time is around 1 hour and 10 minutes with only 2 airlines providing the service between Puerto Princesa and Coron – Air Juan and AirSWIFT. Flight prices can change depending on the time of year.

PUERTO PRINCESA TO CORON – BY FERRY
If you’re not okay with ferry crossings, and long ones at that, then this one probably isn’t for you.
But if you don’t mind being on the sea, you can take the Puerto Princesa to Coron ferry every Sunday using the travel company 2GO which is best booked online on Bookaway.com
This ferry crossing is direct and takes around 11 hours. Leaving Puerto Princesa at 7:00 am and getting to Coron at 6:00 pm that same afternoon.
If you’re wanting to keep things simple on your travel from Puerto Princesa to Coron and you’re not afraid of a long ferry crossing, then this could be the best option for you.

PUERTO PRINCESA TO CORON – BY BUS & FERRY
This next option is for those of you who don’t mind a full day of travel but would prefer if some of that travel was on something other than the 11-hour long Puerto Princesa to Coron ferry.
There are shared shuttle buses or private vans departing daily from Puerto Princesa to El Nido, and then from here jumping on the ferry to Coron with a total journey time of around 9.5 hours.

So, how to get to Coron from Puerto Princesa? Simply the easiest route is to fly, the longest route is to catch the 11-hour ferry, or if you want to strike a happy medium, then just jump on the most popular route which is the bus and ferry option.
