CHICHEN ITZA AND CENOTE TOUR – FAQ

Now that we’ve covered everything about these tours to Chichen Itza, let’s answer some frequently asked questions from first-time visitors.

IS IT WORTH TAKING A TOUR TO CHICHEN ITZA?

Absolutely, taking a tour to Chichen Itza is worth it.

While some may argue that it’s possible to visit Chichen Itza independently, taking a tour offers the advantage of having all the logistics sorted for you and having a knowledgeable guide.

Transportation to and from the site is included, as well as lunch and a visit to a cenote and other sites, which makes it very convenient instead of organizing everything on your own.

HOW LONG TO SPEND IN CHICHEN ITZA?

I suggest setting aside roughly 2-3 hours to really soak up everything Chichen Itza has to offer.

This should give you ample time to explore all the different sections, marvel at the majestic pyramids and temples, and learn about the fascinating history of this ancient civilization.

Chichen itza private tours

BEST TIME TO VISIT CHICHEN ITZA?

The best time to visit Chichen Itza is between November and March when the weather is most pleasant.

That being said, the months of March to May also provide a favorable climate with less rainfall, which is a good alternative.

To avoid the crowds, I recommend booking a Chichen Itza sunrise tour before 8 am.

WHAT DO TOURS OF CHICHEN ITZA INCLUDE?

Most tours will provide transportation to and from your hotel, along with an experienced guide.

Also, many tours come with added bonuses, such as lunch and bottles of water or even beer to keep you hydrated in the heat.

You’ll also get to visit the nearby town of Valladolid and take a refreshing dip in a nearby cenote.

Of course, you’ll want to check the inclusions before booking which I’ve included in each description on this list.

DO CHICHEN ITZA TOURS INCLUDE THE ENTRANCE TICKETS?

While many tours do include entrance tickets, some do not. For this reason, you’ll want to read through the inclusions before booking your tour to avoid any confusion.

While the cost of entrance tickets is not particularly high, it’s still about USD $36 per person, so you don’t want to be caught off-guard.
