Where to Stay in Nuda Penida – FAQ
Before I dive into where to stay in Nusa Penida, here are some quick answers to the most frequently asked questions from first-time visitors.
What is the Best Place to Stay in Nuda Penida?
The best area where to stay in Nusa Penida is the west coast, which is home to Crystal Bay, Kelingking Beach, and Angel’s Billabong.
Other than stunning beaches and incredible resorts, you’ll find many cafes and restaurants to chill at. Plus, the best sunset spots are on this part of the island.
Is Nusa Penida Good for Families?
Nusa Penida is overall a great place for families and you can find a ton of family-friendly resorts. The island has many beautiful beaches, clear waters, and friendly locals.
Plus, you can get around easily by taxi or walking around your neighborhood.
That being said, the best way to get around and explore Nusa Penida is with a motorbike, which is to be considered when traveling with kids.
Where to Stay in Nusa Penida for Nightlife?
The best place to stay in Nusa Penida for nightlife is in the north, where you’ll find nice cocktail bars with happy hour deals.
Nusa Penida is not as alive at night as Bali, but you can still find some bars where to have a cocktail and enjoy the evening.
For instance, I recommend Penida Colada Beach Bar, which is open until 11.00 pm with friendly staff and delicious food.
Is Nusa Penida Expensive?
Nusa Penida is slightly more expensive than Bali but you can still find affordable accommodation and eat cheaply out.
You can find hotels for around $50 per night and have a meal at a local restaurant for not more than $5 or $10 per person.
What is Better – East or West Nusa Penida?
Overall, the most popular side is the west coast, since it’s home to the major tourist attractions on the island.
However, the east side is also beautiful and has fewer tourists and is, therefore, a great option.
Best Areas Where To Stay In Nusa Penida
There is no right or wrong area to stay in Nusa Penida but you’ll want to consider the things that you wish to do on the island and base yourself in that area.
In saying that, Nusa Penida is a relatively small island and you can drive from one end to the other in just 1-hour so no matter where you stay you will have the opportunity to visit all of the tourist spots.
