Sifnos Beaches are arguably some of the best beaches in Greece.
Sifnos often gets overlooked and sometimes forgotten about as it lies between two of the more popular Greek Islands, Milos, and Serifos. But I am telling you now, Sifnos Island offers a mecca of adventures that are not to be missed.
I spent two short days in Sifnos (I wish it could have been longer) and only got a taste of what this island has to offer.
In saying that, I utilized my time well to see as many spots as possible and have put together this complete guide to the 7 Best Beaches In Sifnos including where to find them and what to expect at each one!
WHERE IS SIFNOS ISLAND
Sifnos is a teardrop-shaped island located in the southmost western region of the Cyclades group of islands in Greece.
The volcanic island of Sifnos has an area of approximately 74km² and a population of 2,600 people.

HOW TO GET TO SIFNOS GREECE
The best way to reach Sifnos Island is by taking a ferry to Sifnos from Athens or from other nearby Greek islands.
I recommend using Book A Way to purchase your ferry tickets online in advance to be guaranteed the best rate.

They will then print you an official boarding pass for your trip.

There are a number of places to organize a scooter, ATV, and car rental in Sifnos which can all be found within walking distance as soon as you step off the ferry in the main harbor-side town of Kamares.

7 BEST SIFNOS BEACHES
Now that you’ve got all the logistics on how to get to Sifnos and the best way to get around the island, let’s get to the fun stuff.
So, without further ado, here is a complete list of the 7 Best Beaches In Sifnos!
VROULIDIA BEACH
Vroulidia Beach is by far my favorite pick of all the Sifnos beaches.
Vroulidia is a little further away than most beaches in Sifnos, but that’s what makes this beach so special and well worth the journey to get here!
WHERE IS VROULIDIA BEACH
Vroulidia Beach is located in the north of Sifnos Island near Herrissos Village.
From the main city of Apollonia, it is a twenty-five-minute drive. If you are staying in Kamares, the journey to Vroulidia Beach takes around thirty minutes.
The road is tar-sealed for the majority of the way to Vroulida Beach though for the last two kilometers down the hill to the beach it becomes a gravel road.
You’ll see most people parking their cars and scooters at the top of the hill and walking down to the beach, though I rode my scooter all the way down to the bottom car park and had no issues getting down or driving back up.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT VROULIDIA BEACH
Vroulidia Beach is a little off the beaten track so you can expect fewer crowds and a more relaxing atmosphere.
The bay is quite large and the shoreline is made up of sand and white pebbles with plenty of space to get your tan on.
Otherwise, you can take refuge in the shade under one of the many straw umbrellas that line the beach.
Vroulidia Beach boasts crystalline water which is quite shallow in the bay and you can easily enter the ocean via one of the wooden piers.
Also located down on Vroulidia Beach are a few restaurants and a beach bar serving up thirst-quenching drinks, fresh seafood, and local Greek dishes.

SEVEN MARTYRS CHURCH & BEACH
The Church of Seven Martyrs in Sifnos is not your typical beach destination but it does have some pretty cool rockpools and cliff jumping.
It is also said to be the most photographed attraction on Sifnos Island so be sure to add it to your itinerary.
WHERE IS THE CHURCH OF SEVEN MARTYRS SIFNOS
The Church of Seven Martyrs is located in the village of Kastro which is situated along the eastern coastline of Sifnos.
From Apollonia, it is a short six-minute drive to reach Kastro. If you are coming from Kamares, the drive takes approximately fifteen minutes.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you arrive at Kastro, follow the main road till the very end where you’ll find a small car park.
Park your car or scooter here and then walk up the stairs and follow the path to the right-hand side through Kastro town which leads to the beach.
Find All → Hotels in Sifnos
The streets of Kastro are beautiful, to say the least. Bougainvillea flowers line the walls of white-washed houses and there are a number of quaint terraced cafes along the pathway to the beach.
When you reach the end of the path, follow it around the bend and this is where the Church of Seven Martyrs will reveal itself.
A traditional Greek Church painted white and blue sits on top of a rocky islet that emerges from the ocean.
A winding cobblestone staircase leads right the way down to the Seven Martyrs Church Sifnos and it takes no more than five minutes to get from top to bottom.
Once you’ve visited the church and taken some photos, head a little further down to the rockpools in the small cove for a dip.
There is also a number of cliff-jumping spots at the beach, though I recommend checking the depth of the water before you jump.

WHERE IS PANAGIA POULATI BEACH
Panagia Poulati is located along the eastern coastline of Sifnos Island Greece.
From Apollonia, the drive to Poulati Church takes around ten minutes. From Kamares, the journey over to Panagia Poulati is approximately a twenty-minute drive.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT POULATI CHURCH & BEACH
When you arrive at Panagia Poulati, there is a small car park in front of the church to park your car or scooter.
From here you can find a staircase on the left-hand side of the building that leads down to the beach. The walk down should take you no more than ten minutes from top to bottom.
This little bay is one of the most secluded Sifnos beaches and fewer tourists flock here, which means you’ll most likely have the beach all to yourself.
MUST READ: LIPSI ISLAND GREECE TRAVEL GUIDE
This beach features a rocky shoreline and turquoise water fills the bay. If you swim out and shift your gaze back toward land you’ll have sweeping views of a vividly green valley that frames the beach.
There are no facilities down at this beach, so if you wish to spend some time down here be sure to pack plenty of drinking water and snacks to take with you.
PLATIS GIALOS
Platis Gialos Beach is arguably the best and most popular beach in Sifnos.
A long sandy stretch of coastline and crystalline waters are just some of the reasons why Platys Gialos is a must-visit.
WHERE IS PLATYS GIALOS BEACH
Platis Gialos Beach is located along the southern coastline of Sifnos Island.
The drive from Apollonia to Platys Gialos takes around fifteen minutes. If you are coming from Kamares, the journey to Platys Gialos is approximately a twenty-five-minute drive.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT PLATIS GIALOS BEACH
Platys Gialos is the most developed beach on Sifnos Island which is fringed with seaside villas and resorts, cafes, restaurants, and bars. Platys Gialos is also surrounded by a beautiful mountainous backdrop.
There are plenty of things to keep you entertained at Platis Gialos including watersports, retail shopping, and of course swimming in the crystalline waters in the bay.
A number of sunbeds and beach umbrellas are dotted along the golden sands at Platis Gialos Beach, but best to arrive early to score one before the crowds of beachgoers start rolling in.

POLYAIGOS ISLAND & BEACHES
Polyaigos, also spelled Poliegos, is a small uninhabited island that boasts pristine beaches, large sea caves, and exotic nature!
Poliegos Island is a short boat trip away from Sifnos and I highly recommend slotting it into your itinerary.
WHERE IS POLYAIGOS & HOW TO GET THERE
Poliegos Island is located directly south of Sifnos and it takes approximately thirty minutes to reach Polyaigos by speed boat.
The majority of the Poliegos Island boat tours operate out of Platis Gialos Beach.
I personally booked a boat tour with Bloomarine Sifnos and highly recommend booking with them for a safe, enjoyable, and unforgettable journey to Poliegos.
Bloomarine also offers a range of different watersports activities and boat rentals.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE POLYAIGOS ISLAND TOUR
I met the guys from Bloomarine at the Platis Gialos boat harbor at around 7 am to begin the thirty-minute journey over to Polyaigos island.
The first spot we checked out was an enormous sea cave along the northern coastline of Poliegos Island and the captain drove the boat right inside for a closer look.
This spot is absolutely phenomenal, boasting crystal clear waters and a natural hole at the top of the cave.
After visiting the sea cave on Polyaigos I visited a few more secluded coves and exotic beaches that were mind-blowing and I guarantee these spots will leave you jaw-dropped!
Before heading back to Sifnos, the captain anchored the boat in an idyllic bay to go for a much-desired swim.
Honestly can’t recommend this tour to Poliegos Island enough. Money well spent and an experience that will last a lifetime!

A large bay, sandy shoreline, and turquoise waters are more than enough reasons to visit Kamares Beach during your visit to Sifnos Greece.
WHERE IS KAMARES BEACH
Kamares Beach lies on the western coastline and it’s also where the main harbor is located on Sifnos Island.
From the main city of Apollonia, it’s a ten-minute drive to reach Kamares Beach.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT KAMARES BEACH
A long golden beach set in a large bay surrounded by mountains is what you can expect to find at Kamares Beach Sifnos.
The shoreline features beach umbrellas dotted across the sand and the bay boasts some of the most turquoise water I have ever seen. Kamares is rated one of the best Sifnos beaches by locals and tourists.
Kamares is quite a busy little town because of the daily arrivals and departures of visitors at the main port.
You can find many hotels, retail shops, convenience stores, cafes, seaside restaurants, and bars dotted throughout the town, with the beach just a stone’s throw away.
Kamares Beach faces west making it one of the best places to watch the sunset in Sifnos.
For sunset, I recommend heading to Foli Bar which is located at the northern end of Kamares Beach.
Foli Bar offers seaside dining, great cocktails, and live music. It’s one of the best restaurants in Sifnos and a perfect place to relax and unwind after a full day of beach hopping.
