Mag-Aso Falls Bohol is one of the island’s natural treasures and an adventure not to be missed.
Gatorade pools and epic cliff jumps are just some of the reasons why you should visit these awesome falls in Antequera.
I have put together this complete guide to Mag Aso Falls Bohol including how to get there, how much it costs to visit, and what to expect when you’re there.
QUICK ANSWERS – MAG-ASO FALLS
Let’s start this guide with all the essential information you should know, such as the falls’ location, how to get there, and more.
WHERE IS MAG-ASO FALLS?
Mag-Aso Falls is located in the town of Antequera on Bohol Island in the Philippines.
Click here to see the location on Google maps.
HOW TO GET TO MAG ASO FALLS ANTEQUERA?
The best way to get to Mag-Aso Falls in Bohol is to rent a scooter from one of the many scooter rental stores dotted around Panglao.
Scooter rentals are around 300 – 350 pesos per day with a full tank of gas.
Currently, there are no Bohol tours that I know of which include Mag Aso Falls on the itinerary so you will have to find your own way to this location.
HOW MUCH IS MAG-ASO FALLS ENTRANCE FEE?
The entrance fee for the Mag-Aso Waterfalls is 50 pesos person, which is about $1.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT MAG-ASO FALLS?
The best time to visit is early in the morning before the crowds come. Also, Mag-Aso Falls get very busy in the weekend with families, so keep that in mind if you’re in Bohol on a Saturday or Sunday.
Weather-wise, the best season is from November to April, as you’ll most likely get dry days, as opposed to the rainy season, making the trail to the falls easier.
BEST TOUR IN BOHOL
The best tour in Bohol is without a doubt the Bohol Countryside Tour!
It includes popular spots in Bohol, transfers from Panglao, a buffet lunch, and an experienced guide!
ARRIVING AT MAG ASO FALLS BOHOL
To reach these falls, it’s approximately 30 minutes drive from Tagbilaran City or a 1-hour drive from Panglao, the main tourist area of Bohol.
You’ll come to a small parking lot and ticket office when you arrive at the jump-off point.
There are 197 concrete steps with metal handrails leading down to the falls and it’s an easy 5 to 10-minute hike to reach the bottom.
Halfway down the trail, a viewpoint that overlooks the waterfall makes for a great photo opportunity, so don’t forget to pack your GoPro to take amazing shots!

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MAG-ASO FALLS
Mag-Aso Falls is an 8-meter waterfall that is surrounded by a tropical backdrop of tall trees and wild plants.
Carved out under the waterfall is a natural pool that is particularly inviting to go for a swim due to its milky blue-colored water derived from the limestone rocks in the area.
Do note that the rocks around the edge of the falls can become extremely slippery when they are wet. I recommend bringing a pair of slip-on waterproof shoes with you.
The large rock pools underneath the Mag Aso Falls make for a perfect spot to cliff jump.
I always like to make sure the landing is clear of debris and large rocks before doing any cliff jumping so I recommend you do the same.

You can swim over to the falls from the outer edges and climb up into the natural jacuzzi pool to experience a head massage under the falls.
There is also a small cave that can be found under the waterfall.
Mag-Aso Falls boasts a picturesque atmosphere making it a great place to relax and unwind in a pool of healthy mineral-rich water.
Down by the falls is an undercover seating area where you can set down your belongings while you go for a swim.
There are also changing rooms and toilet facilities, however, they didn’t appear to be very well maintained.
This waterfall is a great place to visit when in Bohol and it’s usually uncrowded as it doesn’t appear in many Bohol tour itineraries.
