WHERE IS MAG-ASO FALLS?
Mag-Aso Falls is located in the town of Antequera on Bohol Island in the Philippines.
Click here to see the location on Google maps.
To reach these falls, it’s approximately 30 minutes drive from Tagbilaran City or a 1-hour drive from Panglao, the main tourist area of Bohol.
HOW TO GET TO MAG ASO FALLS
The best way to get to Mag-Aso Falls in Bohol is to rent a scooter from one of the many scooter rental stores dotted around Panglao. Scooter rentals are around 300 – 350 pesos per day with a full tank of gas.
Currently, there are no Bohol tours that I know if which include Mag Aso Falls on the itinerary so you will have to find your own way to this location.

ARRIVING AT MAG ASO FALLS BOHOL
When you arrive at the jump-off point, you’ll come to a small parking lot and ticket office. The Mag Aso Falls entrance fee is 20 pesos and an additional 15 pesos for parking.
There are 197 concrete steps with metal handrails leading down to the falls and it’s an easy 5 to 10-minute hike to reach the bottom.
Halfway down the trail, there is a viewpoint that overlooks the waterfall which makes for a great photo opportunity.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MAG-ASO FALLS
Mag-Aso Falls is an 8-meter waterfall that is surrounded by a tropical backdrop of tall trees and wild plants.
Carved out under the waterfall is a natural pool that is particularly inviting to go for a swim due to its milky blue-colored water derived from the limestone rocks in the area.
Do note that the rocks around the edge of the falls can become extremely slippery when they are wet. I recommend bringing a pair of slip-on waterproof shoes with you.
The large rock pools underneath the Mag Aso Falls makes for a perfect spot to cliff jump. I always like to make sure the landing is clear of debris and large rocks before doing any cliff jumping so I recommend you do the same.
Taking a refreshing dip
You can swim over to the falls from the outer edges and climb up into the natural jacuzzi pool to experience a head massage under the falls. There is also a small cave that can be found under the waterfall.
Mag-Aso Falls boasts a picturesque atmosphere making it a great place to relax and unwind in a pool of healthy mineral-rich water.
Down by the falls is an undercover seating area where you can set down your belongings while you go for a swim. There are also changing rooms and toilet facilities, however, they didn’t appear to be very well maintained.
This waterfall a great place to visit when in Bohol and it’s usually uncrowded as it doesn’t appear in many Bohol tour itineraries. When we visited, it was just us and one other couple.
