WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE SKYLINE LUGE ROTORUA
The Luge Rotorua is not to be missed on any North Island New Zealand itinerary, especially if you love excitement and adventure.
There is a welcome center at the base of the Gondola where you can purchase your Rotorua Luge tickets and ride the Gondola to the top.
Once at the top, be sure to take some photos of the incredible view and then head to the starting point of the Rotorua Luge tracks.
Depending on the day and time you visit, expect to wait between 15 minutes and even up to 1 hour for the luge ride.
I recommend getting the 3-ride ticket maximum, as lines can get long and we saw some people that ended up not using all the rides.
The Skyline Luge Rotorua is about 1.3 km long and is such a thrill as you zip around the mountain! Apart from the fun, the views are incredible the whole ride down.
Once you reach the bottom, you can then take the chair lift back to the top for your additional rides.
To beat the crowds and have more time for multiple rides, I recommend visiting early on during the day. Also, make sure to put on sunscreen and bring water to stay hydrated.
