The Robot Restaurant and Show in Tokyo is unlike any show that I have ever experienced before! Lights, lasers, music, and robots all put together in an extremely entertaining performance that will have the hairs standing on the back of your neck, not knowing what will happen next!
The Robot Restaurant Tokyo is a 90-minute performance that, in my opinion, is not to be missed during your city trip to Tokyo.
I have put together this complete guide of the Robot Restaurant Tokyo and Robot Restaurant Review including how to get there, where to book and what to expect!

ROBOT RESTAURANT TICKETS
The Robot Restaurant is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Tokyo and so you must book online in advance to secure a ticket for the show on your preferred date.
There are only 4 shows a day and it is not likely that you will be able to purchase a ticket at the door as there is limited seating available.
I purchased my Robot Restaurant tickets online with Klook which was very simple and convenient. Booking with Klook also gives you the bonus option to skip the long queue on the day of the show!

ARRIVING AT THE ROBOT RESTAURANT SHOW TOKYO
It was clear we were in the right place when my brother Chris and I arrived as there were flashing lights and bright neon signs with the words ROBOT RESTAURANT written in huge block letters across the front of the building.
Dressed up staff members were greeting customers as they were lining up at the entrance to exchange their online booking vouchers for printed tickets. Having booked online with Klook, Chris and I are were straight to the front of the line and first in the doors.
We walked down the brightly lit entrance hallway, which is decorated with neon lights and comic drawings, to an elevator at the end and headed up to the first floor.
There is a pre-show performance on the first floor before the actual show, so we ordered a drink at the bar and watched a live band, dressed up as robots, playing some classic covers. Once everyone had arrived, it was time to head down to the basement for the official Robot Show Tokyo!

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE ROBOT RESTAURANT TOKYO
A sensory overload! It is quite hard to explain in detail exactly what to expect without yet having experienced it for yourself, but to give you an idea there is a whole lot of noise, laser lights, incredible performers, robot musicians, and more random acts all wrapped into one crazy spectacle!
To start with, I don’t know why they have called it Robot Restaurant as it is far from any ‘restaurant standards’ in my opinion. Once you take your seat there are small food carts that will take your order with only fast food options available such as fried chicken, popcorn, soft drinks, beers, wines, and cocktails. So don’t expect a 3-course hearty dinner. I would recommend eating a decent meal at a restaurant nearby before or after the show.
The entertainment begins and there is no warming up into it whatsoever. From the get-go, loud drums and music along with laser lights and performers hit the stage in full force. The ‘robots’ are more like oversized remote-controlled vehicles and scary creature figures that are very well made but no high-tech artificial intelligence is used during the Robot Show Tokyo.
I couldn’t quite pick up on the storyline, though there are many different acts throughout the show including robot wars, robot musicians, cabaret dancing, loud ballads, laser lights, firecrackers, and much more that will leave your brain over-stimulated after the 90-minute performance.
