To get to Mercure Maldives Kooddoo, you would need to take a 50-minute domestic flight from Male International Airport to Kooddoo Domestic Airport.

ACCOMMODATION & ROOM TYPES
Accommodation is a significant factor in any holiday experience, and the Mercure Resort Maldives has plenty to offer in that regard.
There are 70 boutique-style villas at Mercure, from comfortable beachfront villas to luxurious overwater suites, the Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort is sure to make your vacation perfect.
Below I have listed all the different room types available.
The Beach Villa at Mercure Maldives Kooddoo is a spacious accommodation offering stunning views of the crystal clear lagoon from a private terrace.
You can step straight out onto the soft white sands and soak up the tropical sunshine just a few steps away from the sea.
The Beach Villas come with comfortable king-size beds, air conditioning, and modern appliances, including a mini-bar, a safe box, Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels.
And the elegant bathroom features a bathtub and rain shower to relax after an exciting day.
BEACH POOL VILLA
Another room type at Mercure Kooddoo is the Beach Pool Villa, which provides more space and a private pool, perfect for couples.
The private pool villa comes with a spacious terrace, where you can enjoy the picturesque sunset after bathing under the sun in your pool.
The living room is modern, spotless, and as premium as you can think, with a 42-inch HD TV and direct dial phone for added convenience.
Staying at the Beach Pool Villa, you have easy access to the beach to enjoy the best of both worlds. This is a fantastic, slightly less expensive alternative to the overwater villas.
The Overwater Villa, which is where I personally stayed, is the perfect accommodation to experience Maldives’ classic views.
Mercure’s overwater villas are situated over the sparkling lagoon, a few steps from the house coral reef for your leisurely snorkeling exploration.
The villa’s elegant and modern decor with wood furnishings, a glass floor panel, and traditional Thakuru (butler) service will make your stay even more exceptional.
Inside the room, you have a large comfortable bed, office desk, seating area, mini-bar, wardrobe, walk-through bathroom, and an outdoor bathtub.
Also, you can go snorkeling directly from the stairs at the back of your villa, where you’ll be able to see the underwater marine life without leaving your room.
OVERWATER SUNSET VILLA
The Overwater Sunset Villa is precisely what the name suggests – spectacular sunset views.
They are rooms similar to the regular Overwater Villas but are placed at the best angle to experience the sunset every day.
The villa features larger terraces for you to appreciate the spellbinding views, including a glass floor panel, which may provide a glimpse of the marine life beneath your feet.
That’s not it, you’ll get a minibar with soft and alcoholic drinks, as well as complimentary drinking water.
OVERWATER SUNSET POOL VILLA
Next up in this Mercure Maldives review is the Overwater Sunset Pool Villa, the ultimate indulgent accommodation with extra privacy and exceptional views.
Relax on the terrace, take a dip in the private pool as the sunset begins, and pop a champagne bottle to create lasting memories.
The sunset pool villa is an excellent option for couples celebrating a special occasion or for a luxury getaway.
The villa’s amenities include a generous outdoor deck with a covered cabana and a curved pool that opens up to endless horizons of the Indian Ocean, making it an island of its own.
2-BEDROOM FAMILY BEACH VILLA
The 2-Bedroom Family Beach Villa at the Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort is the ultimate treat for your Maldives vacation.
The villa consists of two adjoining rooms with individual bathrooms, allowing each member of the family to have their own private space.
Enjoy spectacular views of the turquoise lagoon, and you can step straight onto the soft, white sand beach from your terrace.
The bedrooms come with comfortable double beds and modern appliances, including a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a minibar, high-speed internet, and air conditioning.
You’ll also be treated to an elegant bathroom featuring a bathtub and a rain shower to relax after a long day of exploration.
One of the exceptional features of the villa is the private pool, and you can enjoy a refreshing dip while watching the beautiful sunsets.

Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, the court is available for all levels of play.
The court is surrounded by lush tropical foliage, providing a serene atmosphere to play in, and you can rent rackets and balls from the reception.
For a more relaxed outdoor activity, try your hand at Petanque, a popular game that originated in France.
Mercure offers a beautifully landscaped Petanque court that’s perfect for a leisurely game with friends or family.
The game involves tossing metal balls toward a small wooden ball, and the objective is to get your ball as close as possible to the wooden ball.
The court is located in a quiet area of the resort, surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery, providing a tranquil setting to take a break from the beach and try your hand at this fun and social game.
If there’s one thing that is unique to the Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort it’s the garden where they grow their own organic vegetables which are used in both restaurants.
Chef Kapila Rosan with years of experience offers cooking classes at the restaurant and you’ll pick up all the ingredients here before starting.
RESTAURANTS & DINING AT MERCURE MALDIVES
As mentioned earlier, Mercure boasts two beautiful restaurants, Alita and Vista, as well as a pool bar and other dining experiences which I have highlighted below.
Delight your taste buds with the pan-Asian cuisine served all day long at Restaurant Alita.
With indoor and al fresco seating overlooking the swimming pool and lagoon, this restaurant uniquely blends atmosphere and fine dining.
Whether you are in search of a hearty breakfast, delightful lunch, or luxurious dinner, Restaurant Alita will tantalize your palate with an extensive variety of dishes.
It’s worth noting that Restaurant Alita has theme nights, as opposed to Vista Restaurant, which exclusively offers Italian dishes, and these are:
- Monday: Seafood nights
- Tuesday: Sri Lankan nights
- Wednesday: Barbecue nights
- Thursday: Mediterranean nights
- Friday: Maldivian nights
- Saturday: International nights
- Sunday: Asian nights
What else could you need in this already incredible resort?
Experience oceanfront dining at its finest at Vista Restaurant.
With its serene overwater location, this restaurant boasts stunning panoramic views of the surrounding lagoon, a one-of-a-kind dining experience.
Savor the flavors of the Mediterranean as you indulge in delicious Italian cuisine paired with a fine selection of wine or cocktails – they have a selection of 40 international bottles.
The highlight of the restaurant was by far the homemade pasta, as well as the steak and veggies, and the Italian gelato, I’m confident you will love your meal at Vista restaurant!
Indulge in some light snacks and sip your favorite beverages under the Maldivian sun at the Pool Bar, which is the perfect place to enjoy a drink before dinner.
This bar offers a laid-back atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a refreshing drink after a day of exploring the island.
Here you will find unique cocktails, beers, spirits, and wine from all around the world. Of course, you can also pick soft drinks and fresh juices.
They also have a live DJ every night and Shisha for those who are interested in smoking some flavored tobacco.
DINING BY DESIGN
While the two restaurants Alita and Vista serve incredible food, Dining by Design is the ultimate experience for couples.
In the morning and afternoon, they will prepare either a floating breakfast or floating tapas to enjoy the best-looking food you’ve ever had in the pool at your villa.
You can take this opportunity to take some of the most Insta-worthy you’ll have on your grid.
Alternatively, you can pick a romantic dinner on the beach with different menus available – Surf & Turf BBQ, Lobster BBQ, and Maldivian menu.
It’s worth noting that the floating breakfast will set you back $325 per couple, while the tapas cost $355, and finally, the romantic dinner starts at $180 per couple.
These are pretty high prices, but let’s be honest, it’s definitely an experience to have when in the Maldives!
