To get to Mercure Maldives Kooddoo, you would need to take a 50-minute domestic flight from Male International Airport to Kooddoo Domestic Airport.
The flight costs approximately USD $450 per person round trip.
While this 50-minute flight is pretty expensive, the service is premium, and you’ll have a member of staff waiting for you at Malé Airport to assist with your check-in.
This isn’t a necessary service, but surely nice and you’ll get to Kooddoo Island in style!
You also get free access to the Moonima Lounge at Male Airport while you wait for your departure flight. Inside the lounge, there are comfortable seats, a food buffet, tea and coffee, and other non-alcoholic drinks.
Upon arrival at Kooddoo Island, the resort staff will greet you warmly at the airport and take you to the resort in a golf buggy, which is just a 2-minute ride away.
You’ll be given a welcome drink and a tour of the resort to help you settle in and start enjoying your stay.

You can step straight out onto the soft white sands and soak up the tropical sunshine just a few steps away from the sea.
The Beach Villas come with comfortable king-size beds, air conditioning, and modern appliances, including a mini-bar, a safe box, Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels.
And the elegant bathroom features a bathtub and rain shower to relax after an exciting day.
BEACH POOL VILLA – MECURE MALDIVES REVIEW
Another room type at Mercure Kooddoo is the Beach Pool Villa, which provides more space and a private pool, perfect for couples.

Mercure’s overwater villas are situated over the sparkling lagoon, a few steps from the house coral reef for your leisurely snorkeling exploration.
The villa’s elegant and modern decor with wood furnishings, a glass floor panel, and traditional Thakuru (butler) service will make your stay even more exceptional.
Inside the room, you have a large comfortable bed, office desk, seating area, mini-bar, wardrobe, walk-through bathroom, and an outdoor bathtub.
Also, you can go snorkeling directly from the stairs at the back of your villa, where you’ll be able to see the underwater marine life without leaving your room.
OVERWATER SUNSET VILLA
The Overwater Sunset Villa is precisely what the name suggests – spectacular sunset views.
They are rooms similar to the regular Overwater Villas but are placed at the best angle to experience the sunset every day.

Chef Kapila Rosan with years of experience offers cooking classes at the restaurant and you’ll pick up all the ingredients here before starting.
RESTAURANTS & DINING AT MERCURE MALDIVES
As mentioned earlier, Mercure boasts two beautiful restaurants, Alita and Vista, as well as a pool bar and other dining experiences which I have highlighted below.
RESTAURANT ALITA
Delight your taste buds with the pan-Asian cuisine served all day long at Restaurant Alita.
With indoor and al fresco seating overlooking the swimming pool and lagoon, this restaurant uniquely blends atmosphere and fine dining.
Whether you are in search of a hearty breakfast, delightful lunch, or luxurious dinner, Restaurant Alita will tantalize your palate with an extensive variety of dishes.
It’s worth noting that Restaurant Alita has theme nights, as opposed to Vista Restaurant, which exclusively offers Italian dishes, and these are:
- Monday: Seafood nights
- Tuesday: Sri Lankan nights
- Wednesday: Barbecue nights
- Thursday: Mediterranean nights
- Friday: Maldivian nights
- Saturday: International nights
- Sunday: Asian nights
What else could you need in this already incredible resort?
VISTA RESTAURANT

The highlight of the restaurant was by far the homemade pasta, as well as the steak and veggies, and the Italian gelato, I’m confident you will love your meal at Vista restaurant!
POOL BAR
Indulge in some light snacks and sip your favorite beverages under the Maldivian sun at the Pool Bar, which is the perfect place to enjoy a drink before dinner.
This bar offers a laid-back atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a refreshing drink after a day of exploring the island.
Here you will find unique cocktails, beers, spirits, and wine from all around the world. Of course, you can also pick soft drinks and fresh juices.
They also have a live DJ every night and Shisha for those who are interested in smoking some flavored tobacco.
DINING BY DESIGN
While the two restaurants Alita and Vista serve incredible food, Dining by Design is the ultimate experience for couples.
In the morning and afternoon, they will prepare either a floating breakfast or floating tapas to enjoy the best-looking food you’ve ever had in the pool at your villa.
You can take this opportunity to take some of the most Insta-worthy you’ll have on your grid.
Alternatively, you can pick a romantic dinner on the beach with different menus available – Surf & Turf BBQ, Lobster BBQ, and Maldivian menu.
It’s worth noting that the floating breakfast will set you back $325 per couple, while the tapas cost $355, and finally, the romantic dinner starts at $180 per couple.
These are pretty high prices, but let’s be honest, it’s definitely an experience to have when in the Maldives!

Hi Josephine, you are sure to spot turtles in the house reef in front of the ocean villa, however I don’t think the dolphins come in that close but there are dolphin excursions you can do by boat or jetksi which i highly recommend! Have a great time at Mercure Maldives 🙂
