HOW TO GET HERE?
The best way to get here is to rent a scooter and the drive takes around 1.5 hours from the main tourist areas of Canggu, Seminyak, and Kuta.
If you are heading from Ubud, the drive is a little shorter and takes only 1-hour.
Don’t feel confident riding a scooter? Another great option for getting around Bali is to hire a private car and a driver for the day and experience all that the island has to offer.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT AIR TERJUN NUNGNUNG
The hike down to the falls takes approximately 20 minutes. The track is clear and you will also have to attack a steep set of concrete stairs that will without a doubt give your legs a good workout.
But don’t worry too much because it’s all worth it when you make it down to the base of Air Terjun Nungnung!
Of all the incredible waterfalls that I have explored in Bali, Nungnung makes it onto my top 7 Best Bali Waterfalls list.
It is possible to swim in the rock pool beneath the 50-meter waterfall though do so at your own risk. The water discharge is one of the most powerful ones I have come across.
There is lots of exploring to do around the basin and the best spot for photos is on the bamboo bridge that crosses the stream.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
The best time to visit Air Terjun Nungnung is in the morning between 10 am-12 pm for the best lighting from the sun.
There are several different angles to shoot the waterfall from and my personal favorite angle is with the bamboo bridge in the foreground. The spray in the amphitheater beneath the falls can soak your camera lens, so be prepared with a lens wiper.
I always tend to pack a lunch and plenty of drinking water on my daily adventures throughout Bali, however, you can always find warungs (local restaurants) at basically every waterfall location. A local dish of nasi goreng or mie goreng costs around $2 and bottled water for $1.
As you approach the village of Nungnung, you will trace roads via hilly rice fields and coconut palm plantations. Take your time and enjoy the serenity in these northern parts of Bali.
There are also two more waterfalls close by which are Leke Leke Waterfall and Sekumpul Waterfall. It’s possible to explore all three of these waterfalls in one day.
