Bukit Cinta Bali – Mount Agung Sunrise Viewpoint

//

Bukit Cinta features one of the best viewpoints on the island which overlooks the phenomenal Mount Agung volcano.

This happens to be Bali’s highest and holiest peak standing at whopping 3,031 meters above sea level.

If you’re an early bird like me and want to experience an unforgettable sunrise when visiting Bali, I highly recommend taking an early morning drive to this incredible Mount Agung sunrise viewpoint and I guarantee you won’t regret it.

I have put together this complete guide to Bukit Cinta Bali including how to get there, the best time to visit, and what to expect when you arrive.

WHERE IS BUKIT CINTA?

Bukit Cinta is located in Karangasem Regency in East Bali.

If you are heading out to East Bali, I would consider staying in Amed for a night or two which is just 30 minutes drive to the Mount Agung viewpoint.

You can also check out some of East Bali’s top attractions such as Pura Lempuyang Temple and Hideout Jungle Villa.

From Canggu, Seminyak, and Kuta, it’s approximately a 2.5-hour drive. If you happen to be in Ubud, it’s a shorter drive of around 2 hours.

HOW TO GET TO BUKIT CINTA BALI?

I recommend renting a scooter and the drive to East Bali takes around 2.5 hours from the main tourist areas of Canggu, Seminyak, and Kuta.

Don’t feel confident riding a scooter? Another great option for getting around Bali is to hire a private car and a driver for the day and experience all that the island has to offer.

Includes:

  • Experienced Driver
  • Hotel pick-up & drop-off
  • Mineral water
  • Petrol

WHAT TO EXPECT AT BUKIT CINTA

When you arrive at the pin location on Google maps, the viewpoint is visible from the road, so you can’t miss it.

I guarantee you will be in awe when you catch your first glimpse of Bali’s largest volcano, Mount Agung.

The Mount Agung sunrise viewpoint features a rolling hill, some banana trees, and a field of long grass which is the best spot to take photos of this incredible landscape.

If you have a drone camera, be sure to get it up in the air to capture some different angles of Mount Agung and the expansive rice fields in the foreground.

There are two tall palm trees at the bottom of the hill which frames Mount Agung volcano perfectly and ultimately makes for an epic drone shot. (see my image below).

Besides taking photos, there isn’t a whole lot more to do at this location other than marveling at the rays of light hitting the peak of Mount Agung as the sun rises in the east.

I hope these shots I took inspire you to go and experience an unforgettable sunrise in East Bali for yourselves.
