Little Beach Albany is arguably one of the BEST beaches in Australia, some might even say the world.
Does it deserve that title? Absolutely it does! It truly is a little slice of paradise – the beach is whiter than white, the water bluer than blue, and clearer than clear.
There is nothing but nature surrounding the beach which makes the area magically peaceful and a perfect place to come and relax.
I have put together this complete visitor’s guide including how to get to Albany Little Beach, the best time to visit, and what to expect when you arrive!
WHERE IS LITTLE BEACH ALBANY?
Little Beach WA lies beneath Mount Gardner on Two People’s Bay Headland about 30km east of Albany, which is a port city in the Great Southern region of Western Australia.
Click here to see the location on Google maps.
Albany is located 418 kilometers southeast of Perth which it’s linked by the Albany Highway.
HOW TO GET TO LITTLE BEACH ALBANY
The drive from Albany to Little Beach takes about 30-40 minutes.
The journey starts on Collingwood Road, then you turn onto Lower King Road, and afterward follow Nanurup Road until you reach Two People’s Bay Road, which you will follow until you reach a very small, open car park.

From the car park, there is a narrow trail in between the bushes that will lead you all the way down to the northern side of Little Beach Albany.
About halfway down you’ll see a little side path that leads to a drop toilet. Not the fanciest of facilities but does the job in case you need it.

If you’re on the hunt for a professional camera for traveling, check out the Canon G7 X Mark II.
This tiny camera fits in your pocket, captures high-quality photos and videos, and has Wi-Fi so you can instantly transfer to your phone!
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Like most other popular spots, Little Beach WA can get fairly busy, especially on nice sunny days, so I recommend you get up early and come right around sunrise.
If you are not a morning person, come later in the day closer to sunset, which in WA seems to always be an experience in itself.
The beautiful clear water is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, or even scuba diving, which, unless you enjoy the cold, is all a bit more enjoyable when the water is nice and warm, so my advice is to try and plan your trip to southern WA during the Australian summertime (December – February).
During those months most days are going to spoil you with stunning blue skies and warm turquoise water.
Don’t forget adequate sun protection as it can get very hot and the intensity of the Australian sun is no joke.

Little Beach Albany WA is a great beach for tanning, as there is basically no shade but that also means there is no shelter and it can get really windy.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT LITTLE BEACH WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Most people that have been to Little Beach will place it among the top five beaches they’ve ever visited.
Pictures can’t possibly do the mesmerizingly bright turquoise-colored water justice. You have to see it for yourself!
The entire countryside surrounding this gem of a beach is just incredible. The trees, the rocks, the sand the ocean breeze, it’s pure magic.
Little Beach Western Australia is somewhat sheltered inside Two People’s Bay and faces the northeast. The views are almost as fantastic as the beach itself.
Providing it’s a clear day you can spot Mount Manypeaks and Waychinicup National Park to the north.
The path you walk down from the car park will lead you to the southern side of the beach.
If you feel adventurous you can go for a little stroll towards the northern side where you will find a path that leads across the headland to Waterfall Beach, where a waterfall gushes down from the rocks and onto the beach below.
Be aware that the waves at Little Beach can get quite big. Watching them crash against the big boulders is very impressive.
Be careful and keep an eye on the waterline in the sand though as the waves themselves can be rather deceptive.
