HOW TO GET TO KATIBAWASAN WATERFALL?

The best way to get here is to rent a scooter in Mambajao and make your way over to the stunning Katibawasan Waterfall.

I rented my scooter from Camiguin All In One for 350 pesos per day with a full gas tank. They have many scooters to choose from and can also help you organize round-the-island tours in Camiguin.

Alternatively, there are tricycles and jeepney options available to get around Camiguin Island.

ARRIVING AT KATIBAWASAN FALLS

At the jump-off point, you will find a small ticket office where you will have to pay the entrance fee of 50 pesos before trekking down to the waterfall.

I say the word ‘trek’ lightly as it’s more of a walk along a clearly marked trail and down a set of concrete steps to reach the base of the falls.

It takes no more than 5 minutes to walk from the jump-off point to the falls.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT KATIBAWASAN FALLS CAMIGUIN

Here’s what to expect and a Katibawasan Falls description.

Katibawasan Falls Camiguin is fed from the nearby Mt. Timpoong and the falls itself feature a narrow stream of water that flows effortlessly down a monolithic cliff-face and into a large catch basin below.

The shallow lagoon at the base of the falls is the perfect opportunity to cool off in the fresh, crystalline waters while marveling at the lush jungle surrounding it.

Some sections around the catch basin are man-made but they have done their best to preserve the natural ambiance at this popular waterfall.

The BEST Hotel in Camiguin

Bintana Sa Paraiso

Need a place to stay? Bintana Sa Paraiso is conveniently located in Camiguin.

Whether you’re here to explore around or relax in comfort, this is an excellent option!

Apart from swimming in the lagoon and exploring the area around the falls, there isn’t much else to do.

I recommend spending 30 minutes to 1 hour at these falls before continuing on to explore the rest of Camiguin Island.

At the entrance to the falls, there are a few small shops selling souvenirs, snacks, and drinks. If you do have some small change to buy something here, the money goes a long way to support the local communities in the area.
