Grayl GeoPress Water Bottle – Overview

Founded in 2012, Grayl officially introduced their GEOPRESS bottle on a Kickstarter project with a pledge of $25,000 – that was hit in just 3 days.

The Grayl Water Bottle is a revolutionary way to purify water when traveling. It’s fast, easy to use, incredibly versatile, and it looks good too!

What makes it so special is that it filters out all the bacteria and nasties that could potentially be in the water you drink on your travels, from parasites to salmonella and many more.

It goes without saying that it’s a must-have when visiting developing countries.

And while you could use another water purifying system, having a water bottle that does it all effortlessly is definitely much more convenient.

PLUS, when you get your hands on a Grayl GEOPRESS, you’ll never have to buy plastic water bottles again!

Ultimately, having a reusable water bottle is a huge help towards saving the environment by reducing the use of single-use plastics.

How Does The Grayl Geopress Filter Bottle Work & Purify Water?

As mentioned above, the GRAYL Water Bottle works by using a patented filtration system that removes 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, and waterborne diseases from any water source.

The cartridge that cleans the water blocks particulates and microorganisms with a high electropositive charge. This, in turn, removes all the contaminants present in the water.

To sum up, the technological system inside the Grayl water purifier and its cartridge is so advanced that you can transform dirty, contaminated water into clean in a matter of seconds.

Is there any better way to access clean water in remote areas?

Whether you’re hiking in the Peruvian Andes, or exploring the Himalayas in Nepal, the GEOPRESS has your back!

Quick Answers: GRAYL GeoPress Water Bottle

How Long Can I Use Each Grayl Filter Cartridge?

Each GeoPress cartridge lasts about 350 cycles, which is the equivalent of 65 gallons or 250 liters of water.

Of course, this figure can decrease when you clean very contaminated water as it would consume it more quickly.

In case you think this isn’t enough – suppose you drink 3 liters of water a day, one single cartridge would last you nearly 3 months!

If you do not use your bottle regularly, you can keep your cartridge intact for about 3 years, but you’ll have to wash it and store it properly between each use.

A word of caution – toward the end of the cartridge cycle, you’ll have to spend a little longer pressing the filter, about 25 seconds, which is still reasonable.

What Bacteria Does Grayl Bottle Remove?

Among all contaminants, the Grayl Geopress Bottle eliminates 99.99% of Rotavirus, Norovirus, and Hepatitis A.

It also eliminates 99.9999% of Escherichia Coli, Salmonella, and Dysentery.

On top of that, it purifies the water from Protozo, Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and Amoebae at 99.9%.

All the bacteria and viruses above can potentially cause you immense sickness if your immune system isn’t strong enough to fight them, which is not an ideal situation to be in.

You can be sure that the GeoPress water bottle will eliminate any potential nasties in the water that you drink.

How To Store The Grayl Water Purifier?

After your adventure, you should wash your bottle and its filter thoroughly. Dry the bottle properly with a towel to avoid any mold or odor growing.

The filter, on the other hand, should be left to air-dry before reassembling all the parts together and storing them.

In case you’re only storing it for a couple of days, you can leave all the parts disassembled.

What Is the Grayl Bottle Made Of?

The Grayl Geopress bottle is made of BPA-free polypropylene #5, TPE and ABS food-grade plastic, and food-grade silicone.
