WHERE IS CORAL LAGOON MALTA?
Coral Lagoon is located on Malta’s northern coast, near the Mellieha village.
The lagoon is close to the popular beaches of Armier Bay and Little Armier Beach, making it a convenient stop if you’re exploring the area.

HOW TO GET TO THE CORAL LAGOON IN MALTA?
There are several ways to reach Malta Coral Lagoon. If you’re renting a car, you can follow the signs to Mellieha and continue towards Armier Bay, where you’ll find the lagoon nearby. You can then park at this location.
Taxis are also a convenient option, and you can call one from Valletta. In this case, expect to spend approximately €30 for a one-way trip.
Another excellent option, especially if you don’t plan on driving, is to join a tour to Comino which also includes a stop at Coral Lagoon Mellieha.
Alternatively, from Armier Bay you can rent a kayak and paddle to the lagoon.

The parking area is well-marked with plenty of spaces, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a spot.
IS MALTA CORAL LAGOON WORTH VISITING?
Absolutely, the Coral Lagoon in Malta is definitely worth visiting!
This unique blue hole makes it a perfect spot for taking photos, and if you’re adventurous, swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking are also possible.
Plus, while visiting, you can also spend some time at Armier Bay Beach and Petite Armier Beach before going back to Valletta or the Three Cities.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT CORAL LAGOON IN MALTA?
The trip to Coral Lagoon Mellieha takes about 45 minutes from Valletta.
Upon arriving in Mellieha, follow the signs to Armier Bay and find the parking lot near the lagoon. From here, it’s a short 5-10 minute walk to the lagoon and its blue hole.
The view from the top of the lagoon is simply stunning where you can marvel at this natural wonder with its clear, blue water surrounded by high cliffs.
It’s best to visit when the sun is bright and overhead, but make sure to have sunscreen on, especially when visiting in the summertime!

Swimming at the Coral Lagoon Malta is not for everyone. The lagoon itself is like a hole in the ground, and it’s not recommended to jump into it.
Officially, the authorities banned jumping off the cliff into the lagoon because of the risks of injuries.

KAYAKING AT CORAL LAGOON MELLIEHA
Taking a Coral Lagoon kayak is a fantastic way to explore. Having a kayak or a small boat makes swimming in the lagoon much easier and more enjoyable.
You can rent a kayak from Tortuga, located at Little Armier Beach. A single kayak costs €15 per hour or €20 for 2 hours, and for longer rentals up to 8 hours the price is €75.
For a double kayak, the cost is €20 for 1 hour or €90 for 8 hours.
The rental process is straightforward, but you’ll want to book beforehand to secure a kayak as they always sell out.
Once on the water, you’ll have stunning coastal views paddling to Malta Coral Lagoon.
Also, I suggest bringing a snorkel mask, since the area is full of marine life. There’s also an underwater arch that’s perfect for a cool swim-through.
In short, a Coral Lagoon kayak experience is worth it if you have more time available on the island.
