HOW TO GET TO ANSE SOURCE D’ARGENT?

First, you’ll need to get to La Digue Island from the main island of Mahé.

I recommend traveling with Cat Cocos ferries which depart from Victoria Jetty on Mahé at 10.30 am and 4.30 pm every day.

GET YOUR TICKET: FERRY FROM MAHÉ TO LA DIGUE

Once on La Digue, you can reach Anse Source d’Argent quite easily since the island is so small.

Simply rent a bike in the main area, La Reunion, and bike your way to Anse Source d’Argent, which is about 2 kilometers away, or 5 to 10 minutes by bike.

Expect to pay around SRC 100 ($7) per day for a bike rental and the entry fee to visit the beach is SRC 115 ($8.50).

On Anse Source D’Argent Beach, you’ll find the famous Crystal Kayak Tours where you can rent a kayak for just $39 and paddle around the bay.

You’ll definitely want to have your own photo taken in the kayak next to the stunning granite boulders that the island is most famous for.

There are some incredible locations around the beach, but they’re only accessible by boat or kayak hence why you should really book this tour. Robinson Crusoe Beach, officially known as Anse Pierrot, is among the best ones.

On the tour, you’ll get to explore the shallow reefs with your guide to find the best views of the unique granite landscapes from the ocean.

OTHER BEACHES IN LA DIGUE

La Digue offers many other fantastic beaches and with the island being so small, it’s definitely worth exploring more of them during your visit.

Some of the best beaches on La Digue include:

  • Anse Coco Beach – This beach requires a little bit of rock climbing to access but is well worth the effort for this spectacular beach.
  • Grand Anse – With its beautiful granite rock formations and shallow waters, this is a beautiful beach for peace and tranquillity.
  • Petit Anse – Just a small hike away from Seychelles Anse Source D’Argent beach, this is another beautiful beach on the island, with spectacular views and fewer crowds than some of the other nearby beaches.
  • Anse Severe – This beach is gorgeous for snorkeling due to its pristine reef. The waters are shallow enough to swim in for all ages, making this a great family beach.
  • Anse La Reunion Beach – This is a gorgeous beach surrounded by the harbor and a picturesque beach just off the coast. A great stop for restaurants and local stalls.

  1. Is it possible to get to ANSE SOURCE D’ARGENT by boat from Cruise Ship Terminal. How far is the beach from Port? Is there another transportation than bike?
Thanks. We will be there in January.

    • Hi Roman, I don’t believe there is a boat transfer from the cruise terminal, however its’s a short 15 minute drive. Other than bicycle there are island taxis that you can use. Have a nice trip!
